To meet our customers’ diverse needs, we are partnering not only with our mother companies Fraport AG and Lufthansa Airlines, but also with logistics provider OPUS and British Start-up Airportr.

 

Our Innovative Remote Bagdrop Project aims at enhancing passenger convenience and streamlining the check-in process. This project allows travelers to get their baggage picked up from home, hotel or office locations, before arriving at the airport. By utilizing advanced technology and automated systems, the initiative seeks to reduce the effort of bringing all luggage on your own, enabling customers to focus on their family, comfortable travel to the airport or to have capacity managing an office day, also reduce congestion at terminal check-in counters and provide a more seamless travel experience.

 

The Remote Bagdrop service is designed to be user-friendly, enabling passengers to check in their flights, and handover their baggage to well-trained drivers that handle all your luggage. These drivers are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including secure verification and the ability to print the required bag tags.

1. Luggage Pick-Up from Home

With our exclusive luggage pick-up service, passengers can start their journey stress-free. Their baggage is collected directly from home, the office, or any location within the designated service area – whether it’s a suitcase, sports equipment like a surfboard or bicycle, or even a stroller. After a simple booking process, passengers provide their flight details, select the number of bags, and choose a convenient pick-up time. A trained driver arrives at the agreed location, securely seals the luggage, and ensures its safe transport to the airport, where it is checked in for the flight.

Area of service

Upon arrival at the airport, there’s no need to wait at the check-in counter – passengers can head straight to security and enjoy a more relaxed airport experience. Their luggage will be ready for pick-up at the destination, just as if they had checked it in themselves. This premium service offers maximum convenience, allowing travelers to move freely and enjoy their journey hands-free.

2. FlexDrop: Off-Airport Luggage Drop

For even greater flexibility, we started our FlexDrop initiative to offer off-airport luggage drop locations, for example in Lufthansa’s very own LH Express Buses bringing passengers from Strasbourg to Frankfurt. When arriving in Frankfurt, no more need to pick-up your luggage from the buses’ storage! Passengers can directly go to security control while the luggage is checked-in by our ground-handling colleagues.
